【水を得た言葉//Revitalized words】 間の言葉 Words with “between”

本を読んでいて、目に留まった3つの間。漢字の意味を考えてみると、言葉が動きだす。

Japanese words are interesting when one thinks about the meaning of Chinese characters. When I saw “effort 手間”, “time 時間”, and “human being 人間” in a paragraph of a book, I suddenly noticed that they all have “between 間” character. It was a little finding of the day:Dimage_123923953 (2)間 between

・手間 te-ma : work, effort, process

in between hands

・時間 ji-kan : time

in between moments

・空間 ku-kan : space

in between sky

・人間 nin-gen : human being

among people
